Ingredients

4 Eggs

3 Egg whites

2 cups of Wheat flour

2 cups of Sugar

2 tablespoons of Water

1 can of Condensed milk

1 can of Cream

1 can of Evaporated milk

1 tablespoon of Liqueur

1 tablespoon of Vanilla extract

1 pinch of Salt

1 teaspoon of Baking powder

1 teaspoon of Mantecato extract

Ground cinnamon

Maraschino cherries for decoration

Preparation

Step 1 : Begin by sifting the flour with the baking powder and salt.

Step 2 : In a large bowl, beat 3 egg whites to stiff peaks and then gradually incorporate 4 yolks and the sugar.

Step 3 : Add the water and vanilla, continuing to beat until achieving the 'letter of the cake' stage.

Step 4 : Gently fold in the flour with a spatula.

Step 5 : Pour the mixture into a previously greased and floured pan, then bake for 25 minutes at 180°C.

Step 6 : Allow to cool.

Step 7 : In a blender, combine the three milks with the liqueur and beat until a creamy consistency is achieved.

Step 8 : Subsequently, place the sponge cake in a dish and make several perforations with a fork.

Step 9 : Pour the milk mixture over the cake and let it soak well.

Step 10 : To prepare the meringue, boil 1 cup of sugar with ½ cup of water until reaching the 'thread point'.

Step 11 : In a separate bowl, whip 3 egg whites to stiff peaks, then gradually add the hot syrup and the mantecato extract, continuing to beat until meringue forms.

Step 12 : Cover the soaked cake with the meringue and sprinkle with cinnamon and maraschino cherries.

Step 13 : Refrigerate for about 3 hours before enjoying this delicious dessert.
