Panamanian Pumpkin Seed Sweet

Ingredients

20 Seedless pumpkin seeds

4 cups of Water

½ cup of Roasted pumpkin seeds

1 cup of Sugar

1 teaspoon of Salt

½ teaspoon of Ground nutmeg

5 Cloves

Preparation

Step 1 : Wash the pumpkin seeds and cut them into small pieces, removing the central part.

Step 2 : Bring water to a boil in a pot and add the sugar, stirring until completely dissolved.

Step 3 : Once the sugar has dissolved, add the pumpkin seeds, cover, and cook for about 40 minutes until the water reduces and the pumpkin seeds turn dark.

Step 4 : Add roasted pumpkin seeds, ground nutmeg, salt, and stir constantly for 20 minutes until the liquid almost fully reduces.

Step 5 : Remove from heat, let rest, pour into glass jars, and refrigerate before serving.
