Panamanian Meringues

Ingredients

2 ½ cups of Cornstarch

1 ½ cup of Corn flour

4 Eggs

1 cup of Sugar

4 tablespoons of Melted butter

1 cup of Milk

¼ teaspoon of Baking soda

¼ teaspoon of Baking powder

¼ teaspoon of Vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon of Ground cinnamon

1 pinch of Salt

Preparation

Step 1 : In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients: cornstarch, corn flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

Step 2 : Add 3 egg whites, 1 beaten egg, butter, and vanilla.

Step 3 : Mix well until smooth.

Step 4 : Then add the milk and continue stirring.

Step 5 : Refrigerate the mixture for about 10 minutes to keep it firm.

Step 6 : Next, assemble the meringues by forming balls and extending them into strips approximately 15 cm long, then roll them into spirals.

Step 7 : Place the meringues on a tray with parchment paper and brush them with a egg white wash.

Step 8 : Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20 minutes.

Step 9 : Let them rest before serving.
