Drunken Cake
Ingredients
1 ½ liter of Water
1 pinch of Cinnamon
125 milliliters of Sherry
175 milliliters of Rum
400 grams of Sugar
2 Lemon slices
250 grams of Dried fruits and raisins
1 Large sponge cake
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare this recipe, start by soaking the dried fruits and raisins overnight.
Step 2 : Then, in a saucepan, place the water, cinnamon, sugar, and lemon slices, and bring to a boil for 10 minutes.
Step 3 : Next, add the soaked fruits and raisins to the previous mixture, but without the liquid, which should be reserved.
Step 4 : Once done, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool.
Step 5 : When the mixture has cooled, add the liquid in which the fruits were soaked.
Step 6 : To finish, cut the sponge cake into portions and dip them into the syrup, decorating with the fruits on top.
