Rice with Pork and Vegetables

Ingredients

2 kilograms of Pork meat cut into pieces

1 Medium chopped onion

3 Garlic cloves minced

2 cups of Rice

2 cups of Water

5 teaspoons of Chicken flavoring or broth

1 teaspoon of Achiote powder

½ cup of Carrots

½ cup of Peas

2 tablespoons of Vegetable oil

Preparation

Step 1 : To prepare this delicious dish, first cook the carrots and peas for 7 minutes, then set aside.

Step 2 : In a saucepan, heat the oil and sauté the onion and garlic for about 2 minutes.

Step 3 : Next, add the pork and sauté until browned.

Step 4 : Then, add the rice, achiote, and water with the flavoring, cooking covered over low heat for 20 minutes.

Step 5 : Once this time has passed, add the cooked vegetables and adjust the salt and pepper to taste.

Step 6 : Finally, serve the dish hot, garnished with cilantro leaves.
