Panamanian Gallo Pinto
Ingredients
500 grams of Beans
Water
1 kilogram of Pork tail
3 Chopped onions
1 Chopped bell pepper
3 Crushed garlic cloves
5 Chopped cilantro leaves
2 Chicken bouillon tablets
2 tablespoons of Soy sauce
2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
500 grams of Rice
2 tablespoons of Oil
2 Chopped tomatoes
1 can of Tomato sauce
Preparation
Step 1 : Beans are cooked in a pot with water, keeping the tail in the water to gradually remove the salt.
Step 2 : Add the tail along with the beans, onion, bell pepper, garlic, cilantro, chicken broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, cooking everything for half an hour.
Step 3 : Then, add the rice and, if necessary, more water.
Step 4 : Continue cooking with the pot covered for another thirty minutes.
Step 5 : Meanwhile, sauté onion and tomato in a pan with oil, adding the tomato sauce and cooking on low heat for 15 minutes.
Step 6 : Finally, serve the rice with the beans and the tail, covering with the sauté prepared in the pan.
